I recently tried Acronis' True Image 8 Personal Edition for the PC. The software is great at creating an image of the harddrive for backup purposes. It is also very fast at booting up from a backup disk image and in some ways it is faster than a comparable version of Norton Ghost.
If you want to download a free and legitimate copy of Acronis True Image 8.0 Personal Edition, go to the URL (http://www.acronis.co.uk/mag/pcpro/ati8pe) to register. You'll need to fill in the fields such as first name, last name, e-mail, etc. Then, check off “I have read the privacy policy”, and click the “Register me!” button. You will then receive an email confirmation link in your email inbox. Once you have registered, you will receive a serial number and you'll be able to create an Acronis online account that's registered with the free serial number.
